Fair enough. But we cannot ignore the tendency of a tool to encourage bad
habits or to encourage good ones. We all fall short of our ideals for both
preparation and performance, and the choice of approriate aids is both
necessay and useful. PowerPoint and its ilk can be used effectivly but they
do have a real tendency to encourage bad habits and lazy preparation. I know
that I have fallen victims to Power Point's siren song. I have now learned
to write my presentation first, then make supporting slides afterwards. It
really imporves my presnetations to work this way.
