Re: So many jobs want CURRENT security clearances
I've held a 'Q' clearance and did tech writing for EG&G, a government M&O contractor. The pay was substantially better than the private sector and I lived in a nice suburb of Denver, Colorado. Of course, that was before the Clinton years. My guvmint contract job was recently cut due to budget cuts because of the tax cuts and war expenses of the Bush Administration and I long for the prosperity of those "dreaded" Clinton years when all we had to worry about was where to work next instead of wondering if we should buy food or make the mortgage payment. Then again, I'm just a disgruntled Vietnam Vet.
