You have interpreted correctly. I was thinking of technology as a solution.
The "problem" is that recruiters want the resume to cover time periods. It
is inevitable that you will discard details to keep the resume under 5
pages. I remember trying to keep it under 2 pages a long, long time ago.
I had a Filemaker solution. It was fun to play with. At some point I
abandoned it, and went back to MS Word.
I'm sure the XML tools will mature in time.
For the current contract, I am being asked about competency that I have
listed. What I don't have listed are the details of the project.
All of the technology pieces are available (I think), and that is why I
asked.
