Re: Opinions on www.techwritershome.cjb.net?
Before I go to the trouble of joining www.techwritershome.cjb.net, I thoughtYour message is the first that I've heard of it. It seems to be in the early stages, so I hesitate to judge it, but let's just say that I'm not overwhelmingly impressed.
I'd swing by and ask you folks if anyone here was a member and if it was
worth the time and trouble.
Sincerely,
For one thing, the language seems designed to convey an impression that the site is a much larger operation than it is; for example, it talks about hundreds of people asking to be put into the directory, yet apparently no names are listed yet. Rightly or wrongly, I always feel that such things are an attempt to deliberately mislead. True, in this case, any misleading is probably harmless, but I don't care for it all the same.
For another, most of its content is simply links to other sites, including a healthy number to the Techwr-l site.
Given time, the site might improve, but, right now, I don't find it compelling.
