Think about it from the perspective of the existing employees,Hmm - that's another reason for bypassing HR via networking and personal contacts.
not the jobseeker. Sometimes the techies at a company are the
ones most annoyed by over-zealous or clueless HR screening (I'll
spare you the personal anecdotes).
I know that HR, however well meaning, is bad news for job-seekers. Just as sellers try to avoid the Purchasing Department, so job-seekers (who are also sellers) should try to avoid the HR Department. Both Purchasing and HR exist to screen people as much as to do the jobs suggested by their names.
But the idea that HR is a nuisance to the developers is new to me - and probably true.
