HUMOR: Should I use common sense?

Hey gang, 

As you may know, one of the newest trends in the universe is "common sense."
Its supposed to be related to intelligence and "having a frickin' clue", but
actually quite different. For example, I hear common sense can be used to get a
job done in a timely and efficient manner without resorting to elaborate and
unnecessary methodologies that merely bog down the documentation process into
marginally useful administrative work. 

This interests me a lot. I am unfamiliar with doing my job in a rational
manner. I just mindlessly show up every day and plug text into holes and apply
styles. I follow our extnsive set of Maturity Model rules and never once
thought about just using common sense to do my job. 

However, last week I attended a seminar on the value of common sense. The
speaker, Dr. Daniel Snakinscammer has developed a comprehensive set of common
sense templates for use in work-related environments. For example, one of his
most respected methods encourages the use forks to eat lunch instead of ramming
one's lunch in their face-hole with their fingers. When I tried using this
Fork-based Food Consumption system, I was amazed at how productive I was. I
could pack food into my drooling maw at twice the speed as before. 

I am curious, how many of you are using common sense in your work? Is it
working out for you? How did you go about getting a hold of the necessary
people to approve your common sense ideas? 

I'd really love to ignore all your thoughts on this topic.
