It's not that I don't llike Optima. Considering it in isolation, I do. But I can't remember the last time I wrote about perfume - certainly not in this incarnation - and the social connotations aren't very appropriate for software or hardware.

Were I to ignore these connotations and use it any way, I'd run the risk of creating a subtle sense of wrongness in some readers. This sense would be a needless distraction, and would break the basic rule of classical typography: it would be calling attention to the typography at the expense of the content.

Slings and arrows, that's what. And it's my birthday as well. I would have liked a balloon. But what do I get? Slings and arrows. Not to mention a sea of troubles. Did I mention a sea of troubles, Piglet?'"
