If the merger or acquisition took place after
I left, I use the name the company used when
I worked for it.

If the merger or acquisition took place while
I worked there, I use "The Great Whale, Inc. (formerly
The Jonah Company)"

If the experience is pertinent, but ancient history
none-the-less, I use "1983-1986 For a small mini-
computer vendor and provider of office automation
training to civil service and private industry..."

I'm not sure there's any real right or wrong way here.
And I can't think of anyone I've run into at a job
interview that didn't understand how companies come
and go. Just try to be clear and be consistent.

HTH!

How does one cite a company one worked for
