I don't see that there's any benefit to naming the company where this
occurred, and it might even land you in hot water legally. I think you can
make the point just as well by relating your story as you did in this post
(which scared the hell out of me), with the warning that "this CAN happen
to you."
During the war we called Desert Storm, I worked in one of the tallest
buildings in Burbank, for a major corporation. Because of the building's
profile and population, it became popular for anti-US terrorists and
wannabes to phone in bomb threats, causing us to evacuate frequently.
It was annoying as hell - hurrying down 26 flights of stairs. But even
MORE annoying was the day that a voice came over the intercom telling us
that we could return to our offices; the bomb threat was over. But they
had never told us there WAS a bomb threat - we had never evacuated! I'm
sure some heads rolled after that faux pas.
I think if you gear your piece more toward protecting those who read it,
rather than pointing the finger at those who've botched the job, you'll do
more good in the long run.
