There's a nifty little program, been around since DOS, called "Wisdom of the
Ages." Downloadable demo. Kludgy interface, but fun.

It is a collection of more than 6,000 adages, aphorisms, apothegm, axioms,
maxims, truisms, quips, quotes, etcetera. Nicely organized into topics,
opposites, humor, etc.

unnecessary things??
