Hello Open Open Users!

Can anyone guide me with numbering in open office.!!
My document requires 3 level of numbering.
I have defined the three levels. but each time i change the style i have to
select the type of numbering manually.
This means :
1. numbering 1
a. numbering 2
i numbering 3
Now if i change my num 3 style to numbering 1
it gives me
1. numbering 1
a. numbering 2
i. numbering 1

TIA
SJ
