This is not an advanced question; the archive seems to be filled with
answers to advanced graphic issues. These two are very simple:

1. How can I insert a graphic so that it looks to be "inline" with the text.
For example, "Click the X toolbar button [insert graphic of referenced
button]." In Word, the line spacing adjusts to fit the inserted graphic
automatically; however, this is not the case in Frame. Is there a special
setting during Import or something that I have to do? Or, do I need to
adjust the Paragraph tag?

Jessica,
You insert an Anchored Frame at the insertion point. You can do this by either using the Menu bar, selecting Special > Anchored Frame, or on the keyboard by pressing in sequence Esc, s, a. Remember to choose Insertion point and then resize your frame. Then paste the graphic into the frame. You can create the anchored frame and then copy and paste it into other positions as well.

A plug-in from Silicon Prairie Software called Auto-Text, will allow you to define an object (anchored frame) and reuse. The plug-in is $25.00. (http://www.siliconprairiesoftware.com)

2. Sizing graphics: How do I reduce a graphic if it is far too big (after
importing) for the style guide...or even the page? I have been using 96 dpi
when importing. This works fine for the smaller graphics but makes gibberish
of the larger graphics (the full screen shots) while making them too small
for the anchored frame, then too far too the left or to far to the right
inside it. Thank you!

Resizing bitmapped graphics is always rather problematic. The answer is not to reduce the size of the graphic. This is especially true if you have a graphic that is about 1/4 the size of the screen and you try to reduce the size by more than 15%.

As for relocating the graphic inside the frame try these commands from the keyboard after you resize.

Left align Esc, j, l
Center Esc, j, c
Right Esc, j, r
Top Esc, j, t
Middle Esc, j, m
Bottom Esc, j, b
