Trese, Timothy G. asked:

Is it correct to hyphenate these to:

late-arriving workers
rapidly-flashing light
normally-opened valve
rudely-interrupted nap

Response:

The first one is correct, the last three are not. Every usage guide that
I've ever consulted advises against hypenating compounds if the first word
is an adverb ending in -ly.

Salette Latas
salette -dot- latas -at- misyshealthcare -dot- com
