Its not a case of the user not following the process and coming up
with erros, but more of a case of the following...I wsas tryint to
come up with an example that applies....this is the closest that I
can...
Imaging Windows98 Explorer..not the Internet browser, but the file
explorer.
There's a left and right pane.
Here's what the developer might want:
1) To launch a file, find the root directory in the left pane and
double click on it.
2) In the list of subdirectories in the left pane, click the next
subdirectory.
3) In the list of subdirectories in the left panhe, click the next
subdirectory.
4) Repeat this process until the application you want to launch is
displayed in the right pane.
5) In the right pane, double-click the EXE file and the application
launches.
Now, supposed the user was to click the subdirectoriesd in the right
pane to get to the file. To the developer, this would not be the
right way to do it and the program should generate an error message.
Do I document that the user must only do it from the left pane and
that if they do it from the right, the results are not guaranteed?
