Just post your resume on Monster, you'll get an instant education. Agencies and agents run the gamut from those who wish to meet you and discuss your experience and goals, and will help you tailor or reorganize your CV, to those who "edit" and broadcast your resume without discussing it with you first. In the second case, make sure you bring at least two good copies of your own resume to any interview.

In February, I stopped counting at 20 agents calling about my resume.

Got hooked up with one good agent, and am very happy with the job she found for me.

Sometimes you get a feeling about the agency, but rather than get
burned, I though I would solicit your experiences on this subject.

What are the best agencies to work with? What are the worst? Is there
any point in contacting the "career builder" agencies, the ones which
ostensibly work for you rather than the employer (and on your dime).
U.S. content is appreciated, I am likely to end up back in the States.
