Here's an option. It usually works for used car salespeople...

Tell them the salary that you would like to recieve (within reason - DO
YOUR HOMEWORK), then add about $1500-2000.

HR Gal: So, what are your salary expectations?

YOU: (thinking you want $40,000) "based on my qualifications and experiece,
I would be interested in a salary of about $42,000.

HR Gal: Ummmm....would you be willing to accept $40,000?

YOU: *pause* Yes...yes I would.

HR Gal: *smiles*

YOU: *smile*

Or something to that extent.

My 0.2 cents (0.4 cents Canadian)
