Good afternoon,

I find this thread very interesting as a newbie "hired hand" in the writing
field and a former manager. While I do believe that a resume should be only
a page long, what should and shouldn't be left out is left to the eye of the
beholder. I think interests are important on a resume, showing diversity and
a "life" outside of the work arena.

As a prior manager, I've hired employees because of their broad-based life
experiences. Most worked out well. As a more "mature" and over the age of 50
person, I hesitate putting down excessive "bulleted" interests or hobbies,
because a potential employer might think I'm close to one hundred years old
or quite flighty.

Leave out the objectives, yes. The interests, no. Just my two cents.
