Because you are seen as the expert in writing within your company, it is your standard practice *not* to use revision marking when editing your Word documents. I know that this is an enviable position to be in, but that's the way it is here, in general. The people on my team are the final arbiters of what is right and what is wrong, from a strict writing aspect.

At this point, you realize that you might want to show somebody exactly how horrible the document was before you had your shot at it. The good news is that 1) you haven't saved your changes to the doc (maybe that's dumb, but it happens to be the case), and 2) you have an infinite number of "undo"s available to you. Alas, if you "undo" all the way back to the beginning of the document, turn revision marking on, and then "redo" everything, your changes don't show up in revision marking. Only new changes show up.

ctrl + A, open a new document, ctrl + c. save the new document.
Then do a doc compare, if you fell it is worth while to stick it to the
other guy.
Candidly, why bother. Read Eric's piece on getting along with the others
in your org.
