I hope it's OK to actually address the question. Knowledge base design is important especially in the context of developing modular information. How users find the right information module becomes a key to usability.

We're into the areas of library science and search engines. I attended an excellent seminar Dr. Bella Hass Weinberg about Thesaurus Design for Information Systems, the summary of which is on my Web site at <http://www.allegrotechindexing.com/article02.htm>. Getting from the words used by the searcher to the words used in the information modules represents a key problem.

You may also find the American Society for Information Science and Technology <http://www.asis.org/> a useful place to start.
