Getting back to Shelly's original question:

Could someone please help me with designing Knowledge Bases. Would anyone
know of any theories/guidelines?

While below her signature block and a note on Deva tools was written in the
TECHWR-L boilerplate:

Besides the sources that have been posted, this might be a place to look.

It might also help if you provided a few details as to what you hope to
accomplish with your knowledge base and how you intend to deploy it.
