As I catch up with the past days' digests, I don't see that this
inquiry has been answered. I haven't had the problem myself, but
I've noticed that people say it's because the typing in the index
entry box reflects the style of the text that's being indexed.
So the text may be pushed down till only the top is visible, or
even pushed entirely out of sight, if in the body of the document
it's subscripted... or maybe if there's space specified for
before the paragraph; I don't quite remember. But check the
style of the text that's being indexed, and I'll bet you find
that something is pushing it up or down.
