One thing I forgot to mention in my earlier smart-alecky reply is that
we place our headings flush left, and indent the body text half an inch.
This makes the headings stand out, and probably makes it easier to
compare the levels of headings, at least those on the same page.
We only use three levels of headings for most things. If forced to go to
a fourth level, we use run-in headings, and are likely to get our
fingers slapped.
