Someone asked about which department tech writers generally get attached to...

At one company, I was part of the Systems Group -- the same folks who fixed the
PCs, ran the help desk, etc.

At another, I was part of the Engineering Group because I worked with the
engineers.

Currently, I'm part of the Development Group. This is, by far my favorite
group to work with. Even if they don't always remember to tell me things, I
get a lot more information being with this group than if I were sitting across
the office in Sales, or Support...
