Maybe this is what you want:
(For Word 97) Draw your table on your typical Portrait page.
Then, right click in the table and choose "Text direction." There will be an
option for sideways text there.

Subject: Microsoft Word Landscape Tables on
a Portrait Page
Good morning everyone!
I have a Microsoft Word question. I'd like to
create a landscaped table on
a portrait page. I'd like to do this because I'm
having problems with the
headers/footers when I change the page to landscape.
Does anyone know how
to make landscaped tables?
