Michael,
I, too, have had trouble making transparent images with Photoshop. You
didn't mention specifically what type of transparent image you want.
Working primarily with online documentation at the moment, I have little
need for EPS images. However, I can offer one method of making transparent
gifs:
1. Make sure your image is in RGB mode. (Other modes work with this method
but starting RGB seems to produce the best results.)
2. Select the part of the image that you want to be transparent and, then,
inverse your selection.
3. Save the selection as an alpha channel.
4. To finish and save, change your image mode to indexed color and save as
a gif.
Feel free to contact me if you want more details, or further explainations.
Hope that helps,
Rae Hanson
