Conflicting with the date format used in England (Britain) that is
apparently the same as the French one. At least the British and French
agree on something.

I think I prefer YYYY MM DD as it is completely unambiguous (as a date)
and sorts in year, then month, then day order should you wish to do this
automatically (unlike the American format that sorts month, day, then
mixes in the years).
