Well, mine might not have been a $60K vs. $80K situation, but I certainly
would not have asked for $11K more at my current job than at my previous
job. I know that I'm more valuable to my current employer than my previous
because of my background knowledge, but I still wouldn't have asked for
THAT much.

How did I get it, then, you ask? I worked with a recruiter. I didn't have
to handle any of the salary negotiations. It made things a lot less
stressful for me (and I don't get stressed at interviews, so that's
really something :-).
