Very big difference. Editing supposes that a document exists and you are
trying to make it better, more readable, correcting spelling and grammar
errors. Writing is the process of, well...writing. You have to write it
before you edit it. If you are the writer, you will eventually become the
editor. You can't edit it if it is not written.
