I can't say what K2 is because I am under non-disclosure from Adobe.
However, I can say that it is in no way a replacement product for
FrameMaker. I also very much doubt that it will replace PageMaker.

When Adobe demoed K2 publicly a few months back, the company made it clear
that the product is aimed at Xpress. As many posters to this thread have
noted, Xpress does not play well in our long document market because it is
aimed at design-intensive publications such as magazines.
