Contract Position Available in Vancouver, Canada
Job Description
Using design specifications from a third party, you will modify an existing
Framemaker book template. This template will be used to create new software
user manuals and to convert existing user manuals. A number of these manuals
will be translated into German.
Tasks include:
* Identifying the key differences between templates and making
recommendations for standards
* Testing the new template and converting a sample manual
* Generating a set of instructions on using the new template to
convert existing material
* Researching methods to automate the conversion process
* Converting existing documents to the new template (time permitting)
Skills Required
* Thorough knowledge of Framemaker 5.5 templates and printed document
production
* Experience with document design and information design
* Ability to work independently
* Excellent communication skills
* Strong attention to detail
* Familiarity with translation process a plus
