Hi, Dave!

I'd like to see the rationale!

"Dear Valued Customers: we've decided that it's not worth our while to
make it easy for you to install our product. This is the trial-and-error
version. Come back if you succeed in getting it going."

Business today is one strike and you're out. Customers vote with their feet.

I would definitely update my resume. Even if the company survives, what
is the future headcount of the technical publications department?
