Are you using FastSaves? That feature tends to grow files VERY fast, since
instead of re-writing the whole file to disk on save, it simply tacks
whatever changes you've made onto the end of the file. If you save often, or
have autosave enabled, the file can balloon ridiculously. Extreme case: my
brother-in-law created a 5-page business prospectus for his company, with
less than 1MB worth of embedded JPEG images. The final file was over 35MB in
size. I disabled fastsaves and re-saved it as a file just barely over 1MB.
