My experience with Astound was also from a couple years ago, with version
2.0. Gold Disk, Inc. is the producer (unless they've been bought out
since). I was very impressed even then with the product's capabilities and
ease of use. Its user interface was analogous to that of Powerpoint's, so
it was an easy transition for a Microsoft Office sort of person (me). I had
also evaluated Macromedia Director, version 4.0.? for the same project at
that time. While I'm sure I could have eventually produced a stunning work
with Director, the learning curve was just too steep for the time allotted.

I'm sure both products have evolved in that past couple years, so these
observations may be irrelevant now. But I sure was impressed with Astound.
