There is an article in the _Utne Reader_ on this very topic. What I
found fascinating was the difference in brain function between reading
and viewing pictures. The implication of creating documentation by using
text or illustrations (I make the distinction between illustrations
added to text) is an area tech writers already think about, but perhaps
we need more research into the topic?
