Peter,

We have Australians, Canadians, Taiwanese, Indians, Japanese and a few crazy
Americans working here. All very talented individuals.

The issue is not the quality of work.

The issue is that U.S. corporations claim that they have no homegrown
talent. A related issue is cost of living, particularly housing costs. For
a person to be expected to sell a $100,000 home and move to an area where a
similar home is $350,000 or more for a salary that is only $10k per year
more is not reasonable IMHO.

I can also understand the "get a foot in the door" attitude of those who are
hindered by the US immigration laws. I have no objection to the people and
their talents. It is the corporate attitude that because they are not from
this country they can be exploited by being paid lower salaries because
those salaries seem large compared to "back home" that I object to.

I look forward to the day when telecommuting is the norm and we can live
where ever we want to and work for organizations that are located where they
want to be.

John
