Hi everyone,

Our documentation department is trying to develop an online help system
(both WinHelp and HTML-based help) that spans multiple products. We
thought we had everything figured out until development decided to
change the licensing mechanism. The new licensing mechanism will let
corporate clients license different numbers of different products within
the same license file (for example, they could purchase 5 licenses for
Product A and 1 license for Product B).

The problem: If multiple products are installed in the same place and
end-user licensing configurations controll access on a user basis, then
users may see help files (through related topics, etc.) for products
they do not have access to because the contents and related topics are
based on the products installed, not the license.

Has anyone else dealt with this kind of issue? What was your solution?

I get the digest, so please mail your responses directly to me at
mailto:doff -at- mccabe -dot- com -dot-

Thanks,
Bobbie
