Hi Techwhirlers,

I'm trying to figure out an effective way to alert our customers of
important product changes coming in our next release, but well enough in
advance that they can take necessary steps.

For example, our product includes a bar code module. In our current
release, the bar code host computer can be X (say, 486/33 with 8 MB
RAM). In our next release, the bar code host computer must be
significantly more than X (say, Pentium 90 with 16 MB RAM). Customers
need to know this well enough in advance that they can arrange to have
the necessary hardware available before they install the product.

Our list of such issues is growing. Have you any success communicating
such issues to customers so that they avoid surprises and the resultant
frantic calls to Support? Please share your experience with me.

Thanks!

Peace,
jim
