I ran into an identical problem once. The Mac and PC versions of Word
seem to handle line spacing differently. I wasn't using Times NR, so I
don't think the font has anything to do with it.
What I did was go into the Mac version, find all the automatic page
breaks, change them to manual (hard) page breaks, and then export the
file.
My Word for Mac skills are a bit rusty, but I think you can do a
Replace... using the search-for-format feature to find page breaks and
replace them with hard page breaks.
