Hi, Joanne!

You might want to think about using FrameMaker in conjunction with WebWorks
Publisher from Quadralay (www.quadralay.com). The latest version of Publisher
can convert Frame files into a variety of online formats, including HTMLHelp.
Later this Fall, they are planning on releasing JavaHelp and OracleHelp
conversion capability as well, which will give you true crossplatform
capability. You should also look at an upcoming product they have, called CD
Express (www.quadralay.com/cdex) which gives you internet-based update
capability.

What you are desiring to do is possible within HTMLHelp, although you will
force your users to install and use Internet Explorer 4.0 or later to implement
all of the desired features. You can also do this in pure HTML using a
JavaScript controlled TOC that I have developed. The JavaScript implementation
is not exactly a piece of cake. My recommendation would be to wait, if at all
possible, for the Publisher JavaHelp and OracleHelp implementations I described
above.

Hope this helps,
Craig Sanders
