This is in response to Paul Carr's posting about using Canvas.

A little background first. My company mandated, a couple of years ago,
that
everyone was to use PCs. My department (Technical Publications) was
using MACs.
This was not too big of a deal for us. Our only concern was with all of
the legacy
documents. This was taken care of this year by using Windows NT and an
NT server.

This past year we bought FrameMaker to do our publications. This was to
get us
away from MS Word. Now we are looking into IsoDraw for importing the
graphics
into FrameMaker. At the present time, we are using Canvas for our
graphics and
get graphics from our engineers in several other software formats.

In agreement with the IsoDraw company, we obtained a copy of their
software
to find the best way to go from Canvas and several other software
programs
to FrameMaker. This project will be done in the next couple of weeks and
I will
send an update as to what we find.

As for the IsoDraw program, we like the ease of using it and the fact
that it imports
into FrameMaker very easily. One bad point of the software is the cost.
It is fairly
expensive.

As I stated, I will give an update a little later.
