Seems like people are replying to what they *think they read* or *wanted
to argue about* instead of what was really said.

Who said typists, secretaries, doctors, popes, etc. cannot be tech
writers? The posts I read simply said being good at one of these
professions does not automatically make you a good tech writer or even a
potential tech writer. It doesn't automatically make you a teacher
either, or a truck driver or an architect.

I'm not being an elitist and I'm not afraid someone "less worthy" is
going to take my job. I'm just asking, since we're all supposed to be
such great communicators, if we can please respond to what the post
really says.
