Hi Guys,

I'm trying to, in effect, merge two graphics together.

I have 'placed' a .tif into Illustrator and then tried to use another
graphic (also 'placed') as a stencil to cut out using the knife tool and
via Object>Path>Slice.

I had had no success at all. It looks as though this only works with
graphics created in Illustrator in the first place.

I also tried using the Pathfinder commands and these also only worked on
graphics created in Illustrator.

After three hours of reading help files and the manual and trying to get it
to work I then tried to do it in Photoshop. I spent an hour there also to
no avail.

Previously I have had CorelDraw and Paint as my graphic tools. My current
employer only uses the above packages and so my skills, whilst getting
there, are no where as good as they should be and I don't have access to a
course as yet.

So I now turn to you guys to try and stop the rest of my hair being ripped
out.

Any help would be enormously appreciated.

Regards,

Bruce Ashley
