Subject:Creating a Background Image From:David Chisma <chisma -at- C031 -dot- AONE -dot- NET -dot- AU> Date:Thu, 11 Jun 1998 07:50:01 +1000
Dear Techwhrlers,
I'm looking for a better solution than the one I could come up with. I
use FrameMaker 5.5 on a PC to create data sheets for my employer, part
of a multi-national company (BTR Rail Group). No other member company
uses FrameMaker. I typically output the files to PDF for both printing
and distribution.
We would like to find a way to produce an electronic version of data
sheets where other member companies can superimpose their own logos and
contact details.
I couldn't find a way to do that using PDF files. One solution is to
create the data sheets in a drawing application, like CorelDRAW, and
export each page as a WMF file. Then use the WMF file as a background
image. But I don't really want use CorelDRAW as my data sheet tool and I
don't want to muck about with 12 Mb background image files?which is what
I got when I did a test.
Any suggestions?
