Any Use for Grammar-Checkers?

Does anybody out there use the grammar-checker that's part of Word or
WordPerfect? The last discussion on this list (in September 1996)
treated grammar-checkers mainly as nuisances, but the programs seem
to have improved since then. I'd like to know if professional writers
have found efficient ways of harnessing the standard built-in
checkers. Advice, stories, comments?
