Hi, Dick,

Steve is right. But there's also the question of what KIND of technical
writing? It could include software, hardware, proposals, technical
marketing, and more. And there never can be ONE book when there are this
many facets to technical writing.

If you live in or near a college town, you might check some of the
bookstores that sell used textbooks. You might find something there.
However, as an ex-tech writing instructor, I have to warn you that most
text books are pretty lame for writing for the REAL world. That's
another topic!

Otherwise, check out the new techwriter's web site that Deborah Ray has
built. It's a wonderful resource and I believe she has some
bibliographies there. It's at:
