I have had the best luck sending them as a Word attachment to the email (one
attachment per email).

If they are to go into a resume database, looks don't count. Just type them
like a block-style letter in 12 pt text (Courier or other monotype font
preferred) with no formatting. The first block after your name and address
should be "Keywords" list computer languages, applications, tools, skills,
etc. that you feel are your highpoints (or that the job ad is looking for).
