SUMMARY: Close vs Exit

Close refers to closing a window without respect to the entire
application, and Exit is used to quit the application. It turns out
Explorer is technically right in using Close, because it really
doesn't quit, it just closes the window. (Although I kinda think it
cuts against the spirit of the guideline because most people, not
knowing that Explorer runs with or without the Explorer window, use
Close with the _intention_ of quitting.)

Anyway, despite the mountain of reasons to change the Close command in
our current project to Exit, we won't do it because--and I just
learned this--we have a deal with certain customers to keep it as
close to Explorer as possible. Oh well.

Thanks for all the input,
Mike
