I can suggest an alternative strategy that might help you. The Office
Resource Kit (published by Microsoft Press) includes Word/DisplayWrite text
converters. You can convert your DisplayWrite (actually, RFT-DCA) files into
Word format, and then import those into Framemaker. You'll find the
DisplayWrite converters at:
This converter definitely works with Word 97 for Windows. I don't know if it
works with previous versions of Word.
Hope this helps,

Subject: DisplayWrite 4 Files
Diplay Write 4 files!
To those who may have seen this before, sorry. But to any that
have'nt
it may be because I missed the all important "Subject" on my
first
mail shot. Was that the reason that we received no replies?
Anyway...
Our department has been asked if any version of Framemaker can
handle
Display-write-4 files without loss of format and styles. We
don't have
experience with this and are wondering whether Framemaker is
the way
to go.
If the answer is a big no then can anyone suggest an
alternative DTP
package that WILL do the job easily.
Thank you
