You're talking about the page registration marks that look like little
crosshairs, right? Not watermarks, which Word CAN do. I can't find it
in the manual or online Help either, but I remember being able to create
a page registration mark in Word with a special character and by
adjusting the page size. Of course now I can't remember how I did it.

As for color separations, I can't remember how to get Word to do that,
either, although I'm sure that you can if you use Styles to define
styles that are in color. And yes, that operation is easier in Frame.

I've never had any problems delivering a Word file to a printer, nor for
that matter with a Framemaker file. Most on-top-of-things printers can
readily handle both kinds of files.
