Gang,
Fred pretty well pegged it. The two massive special issues
of the digest (new to me) were a result of the size.
Don't know what happened--could have been James Bauman's
system, could have been something else--but am looking
into it. The listserv admin doesn't think it was caused by a
server bug (he watched it happen, fortuitiously), but commented that the
server was backed up for over an hour, which is incredible.
My computer was backed up WAY longer than that. ;-(
